Erica Dawson, Ph.D.

Erica Dawson is a teacher, researcher, executive coach, and Director of The Program on Organizational Ethics at the MIT Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values. In 2010 she founded The Edge leadership consulting group. Previously she was Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Yale School of Management, where she taught her popular negotiation courses to executive and MBA students for 8 years.

An expert in negotiation and conflict management, Prof. Dawson consults worldwide for organizations ranging from large multinational consulting firms to small nonprofits. She is a skilled coach, working one-on-one to help individuals become confident in using negotiation to build relationships and meet their interests. She also consults on group processes, leadership development, and other areas central to the functioning of high-performing teams.

Prof. Dawson earned a PhD in Social Psychology from Cornell University in 2003. She trained as an executive coach at the Coach Training Institute, where she also completed a year-long program on personal and co-active leadership development. Currently, she is a visiting professor on the faculty of the Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management. She resides in New Haven, CT.
